STARS CRASH DOWN ON FURY IN SECOND HALF

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, were outscored 6-2 in the second half in an 8-5 loss Saturday night to the Tacoma Stars at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash.

Five players scored goals for the Fury, with midfielder Mauricio Salles the only player to post a multi-point game with three assists. Corey Maret, Thiago Goncalves and Leonardio de Oliveira scored in the first two quarters to lead the Fury to a 3-0 lead midway through the second quarter. But the Stars scored twice before the end of the first half, then outscored Ontario 3-1 in the third and fourth quarters to pull away. Chico Cordeiro and Andy Reyes scored second half goals for the Fury, with Reyes’ power play goal pulling Ontario back within one at 6-5.

Michael Ramos and Derek Johnson scored twice for Tacoma, with Dan Antoniuk adding a goal and two assists.

Ontario will return home to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Nov. 25 to take on the Turlock Express. The Black Friday game will kickoff at 7 p.m. and will be Teddy Bear Toss night at the arena. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to throw onto the field after the Fury’s first goal to be donated to local charities.
