Fury also acquire forward Andrew Lorei in four-player trade with San Diego

ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA - The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Auto Center, announced they have acquired Goalkeeper Chris Toth and Forward Andrew Lorei from the San Diego Sockers in exchange for Forward Leonardo De Oliveira and Defender Juan Gonzalez.

Ontario now solidifies its backline with the addition of Toth, as he is the reigning 2-time Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) goalkeeper of the year. In addition to 89 career games with San Diego where Toth compiled a 69-17 record with a .748 save percentage, Toth also ironically had his first career shutout last season against the Fury.

“Chris has always been a tough guy to score goals on for nearly a decade and we saw that first hand last season as he shut us out,” said Fury president Bernie Lilavois. “To now have the best goalkeeper in arena soccer in the nets for the Fury and wearing a Fury uniform is probably the biggest acquisition in our 6-year history.  His veteran leadership will really help hold down the back line and should help us shut down our opponents for a change.”

The Fury also acquired second-year forward Andrew Lorei in the trade with San Diego. He played in five games with the first team in 2017-18, netting 1 goal and 2 assists, while helping lead the Sockers 2 to the M2 Western Conference Championship.

“Andrew is a big strong target forward with a nose for goal,” said Lilavois. “He is a great addition to our roster and will compete for a starting spot on our first team. He scored many goals against our Fury II team last M2 season so it’s refreshing to have him on our side as well.”

The Fury recently opened their preseason for the upcoming 2018-19 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Season, which kicks off on Friday November 30th at home versus the Turlock Express.  The next and final preseason game, also versus Turlock Express, is Sunday November 18th at home with a 6pm start time. Doors Open at 5pm.
