Ontario, Calif. – Ontario Fury defender Victor Quiroz was named to the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Team of the Week for week 12. The 42-year-old veteran, who has represented Mexico in both futsal and beach soccer, received the honor for yet another excellent performance in this past Sunday’s dominant 12-4 home win over the El Paso Coyotes, in which he recorded a goal and three assists.

Former San Diego Sockers and Sonora Soles man Quiroz is joined on the Team of the Week by goalkeeper Juan Gamboa (Dallas), fellow defender Miguel Vaca (Monterrey), midfielder-forwards Brandon Escoto (San Diego) and Eduardo Cruz (Orlando), and forward Ian Bennett (Milwaukee).

Not being a nominal attacker, the Fury’s midseason acquisition from Mexico City has turned heads since joining the club less than a month ago, bagging five tallies and six assists for a total of eleven points in just five games for an impressive 2.2 points-per-game average.

Victor Quiroz will look to continue his standout play over the course of his side’s upcoming four-game road swing, which kicks off with back-to-back visits to title contenders RGV Barracudas FC on Sunday, February 24, and Monterrey Flash on Monday, February 25. Chasing an MASL postseason berth, Ontario returns home for another crucial clash with El Paso on March 24.
