The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have signed defender Eric Guzman for the 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League season.

Guzman played the last four seasons for the Las Vegas Legends, which is taking the 2016-17 season off in an effort to improve its business operations. In those four seasons, he scored 56 goals and had 122 points, helping the Legends to the playoffs all four seasons.

“Eric is a proven performer on both sides of the floor, and we’re happy that he’s continuing his career in Ontario,” said Fury President and coach Bernie Lilavois. “He should bring a grittiness to our lineup in the tough Pacific Division.”

Guzman, 23, was born in Gardena, but raised in the Las Vegas area. He joined the Legends in 2012-13, a year out of high school. In 14 playoff games, he’s scored 11 career goals.

Ontario will open the 2016-17 season with a preseason game against the Turlock Express at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 23 at Citizens Business Bank Arena, with the regular season beginning at home at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 30 against Atletico Baja. All tickets for the Oct. 23 preseason game are only $5.
