ONTARIO, California(February 13, 2020)– Rookie Forward Steve Merker who was selected in an open tryout this past summer has been signed with the Ontario Fury the club officially announced today. Merker is now the 5th player selected at an open tryout to be added to the MASL side for the 2019-20 season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Los Angeles, California resident joins the Fury after a successful open tryout this past summer and has been training with the team since pre-season camp back in November and saw limited playing time in the November 10, 2019 pre-season game vs San Diego Sockers.

Merker and the Fury (5-8) will begin their playoff push as they visit Turlock Cal Express (4-10) on Friday February 14th at Turlock Indoor Soccer. Kickoff is at 7:05pm and can be seen live on MASL.tv. The Fury will then return home for two games next week on Monday February 17th (1pm) vs San Diego and Wednesday February 19th (7pm) vs Dallas at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
