The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have re-signed midfielder Israel Sesay for the 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League season.

An original member of the Fury, Sesay has scored 12 goals each of the past two seasons in Ontario and 29 in his two-and-a-half seasons in Ontario. He had two game-winning goals for the Fury last season.

“The speed that Izzy brings through the midfield is a weapon that teams have troubles containing,” said Fury president and coach Bernie Lilavois. “He’s a very unselfish team player, and is going to be an integral part of our team again this season.”

Originally from Freetown, Sierra Leone, Sesay was the youngest player to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy of the Major Soccer League at the age of 17. He made four appearances with Los Angeles (including one in the U.S. Open Cup), and also played in 14 games for the U.S. National Under-17 team while a youngster in Maryland.

Ontario will open the 2016-17 season with a preseason game against the Turlock Express at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 23 at Citizens Business Bank Arena, with the regular season beginning at home at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 30 against Atletico Baja. All tickets for the Oct. 23 preseason game are only $5.
