The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, will open their road trip today against the Syracuse Silver Knights, the first game of two in the Eastern United States as part of a five-game trip that will see the Fury make two trips back east.

The trip opens at 4 p.m. Friday as the Fury make their second-ever trip to take on the Silver Knights. The two teams met in 2014, with Syracuse winning 18-2 in a game played under the multi-point scoring rules (with each goal counting for two points, and long-distance shots scored at three points).

Much has changed in the three years since the last visit. This time, the Fury will be coming into the game having won its opener 12-6 over the Turlock Express, with Thiago Goncalves earning MASL Team of the Week honors with a three-goal, one-assist performance against Turlock. Leonardo de Oliveira and “Chico” Francisco Cordiero each had a goal and three assists.

In Syracuse, the Fury will meet their former teammate, Nick Perera, who was traded to Syracuse in the offseason. The Silver Knights split a pair of games in California last weekend, needing overtime to beat Turlock, then losing in the last minute to the San Diego Sockers. They have been led so far this season by Slavisa Ubiparipovic, who had three goals and three assists in the two games.

Ontario will then travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Harrisburg Heat on Saturday. In Harrisburg, the Fury will meet last year’s MASL Defender of the Year, Stephen Basso, who is also a former Fury player. The game will be Harrisburg’s season opener. Kickoff will be 4 p.m. Pacific.

Both games can be streamed live online at MASL.tv.

After this weekend, the Fury will return to Southern California for a game against San Diego on Nov. 19, then will head back east the first weekend of December to take on the defending Ron Newman Cup champion Baltimore Blast and once again take on Harrisburg.
