The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, could not break through the tough San Diego defense Sunday evening as the Sockers strengthened their hold on the Pacific Division lead with a 7-3 victory at Valley View Casino Center.

Nick Perera had a goal and an assist to lead the Fury against his former team. Juan Carlos Gonzalez and Chico Francisco also had goals for the Fury, who fell to 4-5 on the season.

Kraig Chiles, who was honored before the game as San Diego’s all-time leading scorer, added to that total with three goals for the Sockers. Chris Toth made 16 saves in the San Diego net, as only Max Touloute was the only other player with multiple points in the game, scoring a goal and an assist.

The Fury will return home Friday for a 7 p.m. game against the Kansas City Comets at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Ontario will be wearing special jerseys to spotlight the Scheu Family YMCA of Upland. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the YMCA’s mission.

Tickets are on sale now at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets, including special group packages, can also be purchased by contacting the Fury’s offices at 909-457-0252 or by going to OntarioFury.com.
