The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, have signed free agent forward/defender Alex Caceres for the 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League season.

Caceres has spent the last four years in arena soccer, playing two seasons with the Las Vegas Legends, and one season each with Toros Mexico and former league-champion Monterrey (Mexico) Flash.

“Alex has been through the battles in this league, and knows what it takes to win a championship,” said Fury president and coach Bernie Lilavois. “He has been a key playoff contributor for his teams, and that’s what we need to succeed over the long haul.”

Caceres played last season with the Legends, which is spending the 2016-17 season restructuring. He had 10 goals and 12 assists last season, adding two goals and seven assists in four Las Vegas playoff games. In four seasons, he has 59 goals and 99 points playing arena soccer.

Ontario will open the 2016-17 season with a preseason game at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 23 at Citizens Business Bank Arena, with the regular season beginning at home at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 30 against Atletico Baja.
