The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher, have acquired twin brothers Jayme and Joey Kapinos from the Cedar Rapids Rampage in exchange for future considerations, and both will join the team for the 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League season.

“The brothers have been integral parts of whatever team they have been with over the past three seasons in the league,” said Fury president and coach Bernie Lilavois. “To get these veteran hands to help hold down the back line should help us shut down opponents.”

The two have played on the same squads in Detroit, Rochester and Cedar Rapids the last three seasons. Joey broke in with Detroit in 2012-13.

From Ludlow, Mass., Joey is a 5-foot-10, 160 pound goaltender who has amassed 33 wins in 60 regular season games over the last four seasons. He was 4-13 last season for expansion Cedar Rapids. He also appeared in four games for the United States during the inaugural World Cup of Arena Soccer, earning one win and posting a 2.62 goals against average and .773 save percentage in 117 minutes of action.

Jayme is a defender who has appeared in 42 games in the past three seasons, scoring four goals and nine assists. He has been credited with 49 blocks, including 31 last season with Cedar Rapids. The Ontario Fury will be announcing more signings throughout the coming days.

Ontario will open the 2016-17 season with a preseason game at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 23 against the Turlock Express at Citizens Business Bank Arena, with the regular season beginning at home at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 30 against Atletico Baja.
